Last month, I shared with you a post on artists using their talent to address the current spate of police brutality and general racial injustice that smears this country’s history. In that post, I shared that my friend, singer Colie Williams, had chosen to do a remake of Billie Holiday’s song “Strange Fruit” as she has likened the present-day continual killing of Black people in this country to the early 20th century when lynchings of Black people were both legal and commonplace. She asked me to make a video of her remake after I did the behind-the-scenes video showing the making of the remake. Here is the video below. Feel free to share widely.
