The work of an independent artist is always evolving and the need to multi-task is key. For the past seven months– between auditioning cast members, rehearsing, soliciting sponsors, and booking performances– I have been using my arsenal of skills to get my play “Running: AMOK” from the page to the stage.
Last year, as part of the Capital Fringe Festival, preparation was just as labor intensive, but being part of a festival allowed us to be in the public view for folks to gravitate to our show as part of the greater festival. This season, we are not part of a major festival (though we are co-presented by the DC Black Theatre Festival who is assisting us with spreading the word), so amping up the efforts is crucial. Also, involving supporters is smart.
So, this is where you come in.
We have been busily preparing for our upcoming Spring 2011 season and we want you to help us with our latest request. Tell us which flyer you like best as we prepare our postcards and press package for local media. Below you can view one of the flyers advertising our show at the Bonifant Theater.

I had a ball creating each flyer– from photographing the cast, editing the shots, to laying out each ad. But, I want to hear from you! If there is an ad that attracts you the best, comment on the play’s Facebook page, and your name may be picked to receive a free ticket to one of our shows!
