Woman of Power Awardee

Hello all–

It was great to learn last week that I was selected to be recognized today at the monthly Woman of Power Networking event. Awardees are recognized for their community work and the breadth of work they’ve accomplished throughout their career. I found out that I was nominated by a colleague of mine, Shani Elliot, who is a respected radio host and writer based out of Baltimore, MD. Finding out that another woman, one whom I respect, nominated me was, perhaps, the biggest award of all. Thanks to Shani and thanks to eMedia for the recognition. Please email me at LiberatedMuseProductions@gmail.com if you would like to attend tonight for free by being placed on my guest list. First come, first served. See you then!

Oh, and before I forget, let me remind you…

Mark your calendar for my upcoming writing workshop, “Writing Your Life Story”,  sponsored by the Prince George’s County Public Library System. Here’s a summary of the workshop:

You think you have an interesting life story to tell? Want to document your life experiences in a compelling form that will engage readers? If you answered yes, then this workshop is for you! Whether you want to write your memoirs for your public blog, for a book or your private journal, this workshop will get you started and lend valuable tips to completing your own memoir writing project. The workshop is led by Liberated Muse’s Khadijah “Moon” Ali-Coleman, editor of the book Liberated Muse Volume I: How I Freed My Soul (Outskirts Press, 2009) and a professional blogger. This is a free writing workshop, but space is limited, so arrive early.

While no RSVP is required, be sure to visit the event’s Facebook page and let me know you plan to come! Looking forward to seeing you.
