Khadijah will be an IgniteDC speaker once again in the upcoming Ignite event taking place Sept. 30 at Town Night Club at 2009 8th St, NW in Washington, DC. Khadijah was part of the third IgniteDC event in February, presenting her talk “Motherhood is Revolutionary”. Her upcoming Ignite talk is titled, “Facing the Music in the Future”. For this talk, she draws from her professional experience as a music critic, performance artist and media consultant to performance artists to state her predictions on how the musical landscape will adapt amidst technological advances. Here is the talk’s summary:
The open source nature of the internet has radically transformed the way in which we become familiar with music artists, purchase music, and make decisions to attend concerts. The internet has impacted the nature of signing artists, marketing artists and selling music. With this transition in how we buy, promote and make music, what does the future hold for the music lovers and performers among us?
