Khadijah Ali-Coleman’s new play Running: AMOK will debut in the Capital Fringe Fest this summer at Goethe-Institut. The play is an engaging musical that delves into the world of craziness that emerges when21st-century women on the brink of post-partum madness contemplate whether it would just be easier to leave baby on the doorstep and walk away from it all. Through music and comedic flair, Running: AMOK honestly acknowledges the reality that all women aren’t naturally equipped to nurture but mostly all women benefit from the nurturing and guidance a circle of support can bring, even if that circle of support is only for the moment.
Come and get a sneak peek of scenes from the play and get a chance to meet the actresses on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Annie’s Art Gallery in Camp Springs, MD. Light refreshments will be served and musical entertainment will cap the night, with new music from Dionne (formerly Deedee Kirby), Teisha Marie, Anonamas, and Quineice.
